Our summary: we kept hearing people recommend the Three Hills Shampoo Bar as the only one that worked for them so we had to try it - and it didn't disappoint! It's a lovely lathery shampoo that cleans and shines like any of its plastic bottled competition and without the guilt!
Three Hills Soap SLS free solid shampoos replace plastic shampoo bottles. This simple, solid (SLS, SLES free) shampoo does away with wasteful over-packaging and environmental worries in one.
Each ingredient in this highly concentrated solid shampoo is added for their specific beneficial properties and each shampoo bar is designated for different kinds of hair: normal, oily, hair growth, anti-dandruff or for all hair types. So you can safely dive into the world of solid shampoos!
The Nettle and Lavender shampoo for oily hair is gently fragranced with French Lavender, Tea Tree and Lemon Verbena essential oils to refresh your hair and scalp and soothe your senses too. It is a fresh, herbaceous, lemony aroma. With powdered Nettle and French Green Clay to helps to strengthen and promote hair growth. It is suitable for greasy hair acting against dandruff and strengthening roots at the same time. It has an antibacterial effect as well from essential oils.
Thanks to the balanced pH of 5- 5.5, this solid shampoo does not need an acid rinse and won’t have a transition phase. An acid pH of 4.5 to 5.5 is essential to prevent excessive dryness and hair damage during the cleansing process. Acid-balanced shampoos help close the hair cuticle and are recommended for hair that has been colour treated or lightened. Thanks to this pH, the shampoo reacts the same regardless of the hardness of your water.

Active Ingredients in Three Hills Shampoo:
Gentle Cleansing Agents:
SCI (Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate) is the main ingredient of the shampoo. It is a natural, mild and gentle cleansing agent, made from the natural fatty acids which occur in coconut oil and which effectively remove dirt and grease from the hair and scalp resulting in a gentler finish. SCI creates a beautiful, luxurious foam without losing its mild and softening properties.
Another ingredient used in this shampoo is Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, also known as SLSA. This cleansing agent leaves a pleasant, silky feeling on the skin which prevents it from drying out or becoming damaged after washing in contrast to the commonly used SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate) or SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) which are not approved for natural cosmetics. With a large molecule size, SLSA won’t cause skin irritation as it is impossible for it to penetrate the skin membrane.
There are both of a 100% natural origin.
- Coconut Oil contributes to the better hair quality by delivering the shine, softness and power to the damaged hair
- D Panthenol improves hair quality, increases shine to hair and reduces a hair breakage as it coats the hair and seals its surface, lubricating the hair shaft and making strands appear shiny
- Wheat Protein can impart hair repairing properties, improve the ease of hair combing and improve colour deposition and retention of dyes on hair
- Glycerine is sourced from Rapeseed Oil and it prevents drying of the scalp by helping to restore the skin’s water

French Green Clay helps fighting dandruff, gently cleanses, absorbs excess sebum and hair remains airy and strong

Lavender French Essential Oil soothes scalp irritation and tension, has a beneficial effect on hair regeneration. It has antiseptic properties so can revitalise the skin and its helpful with dandruff

Tea Tree Essential Oil has antiseptic, antibacterial properties and is also useful for helping fight dandruff

Lemon Verbena Essential Oil is antiseptic and antibacterial and useful for healthy scalp and hair
Please do not allow the shampoo to sit in water between uses. Store in a dry place, ideally in the soap tin or on a Safix soap rest.

We use the following providers to get your order to you as quickly and cheaply as possible:
DPD Couriers: €4.99 for next working day delivery up to 21kgs within Ireland.
Most orders will arrive with you the following day. Sometimes deliveries may take 2 days depending on what time you place your order. 2pm is our cut off for next day delivery but sometimes we can still add your order to the collection after this time. On rare occasions orders may take more than 2 days to deliver and we will let you know what the hold up is if this is the case.
Packaging:
We aim to use the least amount of packaging possible so we reuse the boxes and packaging we receive from suppliers so don't be alarmed if your new bubble bath arrives in a baby wipes box!
Click and Collect Orders:
Your click and collect orders are usually ready to collect within minutes of placing your order. We're open for click and collect from 10-5 Monday to Friday. (If you need urgent breastfeeding items etc outside of these hours, please get in touch with siobhan@earthmother.ie and we'll try our best to get them to you).
1. At the sliding gates entrance to 49 Grange Avenue, turn left into the parking spaces nearest the back building. Follow the pedestrian walkway behind the yellow rail. If you've a little one in the car or want to maintain more social distance, give us a ring on 01-8397637 and we'll bring your order to your car.
2. On foot, please stay left behind the yellow lines on the pedestrian walkway and don't cross the working forklift yard.
Please do not drive or walk into the working yard/forklift area.

Number 49 is the last building on the right hand side (Brown building with sign for Heterochem at the front). Turn left at the gated entrance and around the corner for our parking spots.
Northern Ireland
We do ship to Northern Ireland with DPD at a cost of €4.99. We do not offer free shipping to NI.
Europe Deliveries:
Shipping to Europe costs from €7.50 and takes 2+ days depending on your location - we ship through DPD Couriers & An Post.
UK Deliveries:
Unfortunately since Brexit we cant ship to you in the UK without setting up a UK VAT number and as a small business its not an option for us, so we can’t ship anything unfortunately.
Worldwide deliveries:
We can use An Post Registered Post to ship around the world. Get in touch to discuss prices.
Returns Policy:
You may return new, unopened items within 14 days of delivery for a full refund.
We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within one week of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (2 to 4 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (1 to 2 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
You may return unworn garments like Modi Bodi Period Underwear or Boba baby wraps only in original unopened packaging for a credit or refund within 30 days of your purchase.
