Friendly Soap Conditioner Bar - Just add Boiling Water - Lavender and Geranium
This handy little bar is kinder to the planet, gentler on your scalp, and leaves your hair super-duper soft and marvellously manageable. The special blend of cocoa butter and castor oil gives you fabulous and frizz-free results with every wash.
The boffins call it cationic, but all you really need to know is that its positively charged particles help this bar leave your hair softer to touch, simpler to manage and even more sensational to look at. At the same time, essential oils of Lavender and Rose Geranium add calming and anti-bacterial to its long list of benefits.
The conditioner bars are easy to use as a solid bar - simply use your hands and warm water to create a creamy paste and tease through hair with your fingers. However, if you prefer a liquid conditioner, it's easy too…
- Mix your Friendly conditioner bar with 600ml of boiling water until dissolved. Allow the conditioner mixture to cool down to a safe temperature.
- Pour the conditioner mixture into a sterile recycled bottle of your choice.
- To keep the liquid conditioner fresh, use up within 7-10 days.
- If smaller amounts are preferred then simply divide the bar and water amounts accordingly
Ingredients: Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, Behentrimonium methosulfate (and) cetearyl alcohol, Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil contains linalool, geraniol, limonene, Pelargonium graveolens (rose geranium) leaf oil contains citronellol, geraniol, linalool (One of the natural ingredients that help our conditioner bars work so well contains tiny traces of auditable RSPO palm oil. We’re looking for alternatives as quickly as possible, so they’ll soon be 100% palm oil free).
Switching to a Natural Shampoo Top Tips:
Ok, so you love the thought of using a more caring shampoo that’s completely natural, but you’re worried about making the switch from your usual chemical goo. Don’t be. It might take a few washes to make the transition – or ‘purge’ as it’s sometimes called – but it’s easy enough if you follow our simple tips.
At first, your scalp might become slightly oily or dry, or flip between the two. It might feel frizzy or waxy too, like there’s a bit of residue left in it. Don’t panic – this is normal, and it’s just your hair’s way of adjusting because your scalp needs time to rebalance its natural oil production. This stage usually lasts around one week, depending on just how much damage using chemical shampoos has done. Stick with it!
Once your hair has adjusted it will feel softer, cleaner and much more manageable, and that’s because natural shampoo bars clean and condition your hair without stripping it of its natural sebum. Any dandruff might disappear too, because your scalp isn’t being dried out and your skin isn’t reacting to those nasty chemicals bottled shampoos are full of.
Tips for an easy transition
- Use an apple cider vinegar rinse (see below) instead of a conditioner, as this helps restore your scalp’s pH balance as well as banish old chemicals. It will also protect the shaft of each hair and give it a wonderful shine too.
- Brush your hair gently and often – twice every day is good – brushing it from scalp to tips so you can help redistribute your hair’s natural oils.
- Give your hair a few days off between washes, just to allow it to adjust.
- Rinse your hair thoroughly whenever you wash it, to help make sure you get rid of every trace of shampoo.
- Try using a bit of dry shampoo or corn starch if your hair is feeling oily, rubbing a small amount into your scalp before brushing it through.
- To help calm any frizz or tangles, you can also try using a little argon oil through your hair.
If your hair has a lot of product built up in it, before you use the shampoo bar try the simple baking soda rinse we’ve detailed below.
Apple cider vinegar spritz
1 part apple cider vinegar (use the type with ‘mother of vinegar’)
4 parts water
A few drops of your favourite essential oil
Baking soda clarifying rinse recipe
Baking soda (or to give it it’s posh name, sodium bicarbonate) is an easy clarifier to use, and it helps lift grease and product residue from your hair.
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 – 2 cups of warm water
Combine these ingredients in a spray bottle or cup, then wet your hair, apply the rinse, and work it through. Now rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water, then shampoo it.
Washing your hair
Just run the shampoo bar over your head in one direction, from front to back. This will help you to avoid creating any pesky knots. Once you’ve a good amount of shampoo on your head, massage it into your scalp using your fingers (or if you’re owed a treat, ask your other half to). Now rinse your hair with water until every drop of shampoo is out. That’s it – you’re done.

DPD Couriers: €4.99 for next working day delivery up to 21kgs within Ireland.
Most orders will arrive with you the following day. Sometimes deliveries may take 2 days depending on what time you place your order. 2pm is our cut off for next day delivery but sometimes we can still add your order to the collection after this time. On rare occasions orders may take more than 2 days to deliver and we will let you know what the hold up is if this is the case.
Packaging:
We aim to use the least amount of packaging possible so we reuse the boxes and packaging we receive from suppliers so don't be alarmed if your new bubble bath arrives in a baby wipes box!
Click and Collect Orders:
Your click and collect orders are usually ready to collect within minutes of placing your order. We're open for click and collect from 10-5 Monday to Friday. (If you need urgent breastfeeding items etc outside of these hours, please get in touch with siobhan@earthmother.ie and we'll try our best to get them to you).

We do ship to Northern Ireland with DPD at a cost of €4.99. We do not offer free shipping to NI.
Europe Deliveries:
Shipping to Europe costs from €7.50 and takes 2+ days depending on your location - we ship through DPD Couriers & An Post.
UK Deliveries:
Unfortunately since Brexit we cant ship to you in the UK without setting up a UK VAT number and as a small business its not an option for us, so we can’t ship anything unfortunately.

Returns Policy:
You may return new, unopened items within 14 days of delivery for a full refund.
We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within one week of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (2 to 4 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (1 to 2 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
You may return unworn garments like Modi Bodi Period Underwear or Boba baby wraps only in original unopened packaging for a credit or refund within 30 days of your purchase.
