Why is Chlorine-Free so important?
Your choice of chlorine-free nappies could help reduce cancer rates. The current level of dioxin pollution in the world creates an unacceptable cancer risk for everyone. Buying these nappies helps reduce the amount of dioxin polluting our air, water and soil and helps make the world a safer, healthier place for your family for generations to come. Hundreds of studies have shown a direct link between dioxin exposure and cancer, birth defects, and environmental and reproductive disorders.
How to dispose of your Nature Babycare eco nappy:
To properly dispose of the nappy, place the nappy in a Nature Babycare Disposal Bag and place in the waste bin. Do not compost. Human waste contains bacteria that can contaminate water and harm the surrounding environment, including people. Harmful bacteria must be subject to high temperatures for a sustained period of time to kill them off. It can be difficult to attain the necessary temperature in all parts of a small compost bin or pile.
Are they 100% biodegradable?
Unfortunately no nappies are yet 100% biodegradable. Nature Babycare nappies are based on renewable raw materials but are not 100% biodegradable. Renewable raw materials come from plants and trees. When the raw materials are burned the carbon dioxide is released to be consumed by other plants or trees. In this way you don’t add more carbon dioxide to the air, which you do by burning petroleum-based products (whic includes most high street nappies). Even during the production phase, Naty use less petroleum-based products than regular disposable nappies.
A little bit about these award-winning nappies:
With features such as stretchy tabs and leg gatherings, a soft cloth-like feel, and non-bulky absorbent pulp, we've created an award-winning diaper that performs ahead of the rest. Nature Babycare Nappies are made from a 100% GM-free biodegradable natural maize film, which lets baby's skin stay dry and breathe naturally. They are 100-percent chlorine-free, protecting the environment by not producing harmful dioxin pollution. The absorbent pulp contains a chlorine-free biodegradable tree pulp from sustainably harvested Scandinavian forests and the patented center-channel means a less bulky fit while enhancing leak protection. Since we use 60-percent natural materials instead of plastic, our diapers are super soft and cloth-like providing comfort without sacrificing protection. We keep oil-based plastics away from babies delicate skin and use natural, breathable corn-based materials instead.
All of this combined minimizes nappy rash and other irritations so that your baby is healthy and happy! Our founding principle was to give mum's a high performance diaper that is better for their baby and better for the environment. We strive to use renewable materials whenever possible in all of our product lines. Nature Babycare Diapers offer the convenience of disposables with the most environmentally friendly attributes.
Conventional nappies are often composed of up to 80% oil-based products and can take hundreds of years to decompose, but because ours are over 60-percent biodegradable, they break down in a fraction of that time, meaning there's less need for landfill or polluting incineration. Not only is the diaper itself environmentally friendly, but the packaging is 100% biodegradable and OK Compost certified.
Nature Babycare Diapers have received numerous awards including the “Editor’s Choice” Award in ’06-’07 from Junior Magazine in the United Kingdom and, more recently, the ’08-’09 “Best Disposable Diaper” Bronze Award from Mother and Baby Magazine in the UK.
The story behind the first eco-friendly high-performance baby nappy:
It took a concerned Swedish mother to make it. Marlene Sandberg, former law firm partner and the mother of two boys: 'It all started with a newspaper article. It said that every year of a baby's life resulted in half a ton of used nappies - half a ton! Even more disturbing was the fact that traditional nappies were made of plastic made from oil! An oil product that comes in contact with a child's delicate skin. I got really upset. Couldn't this be done better?'
Nature Babycare is the result of many years of intensive work and development. The first Eco-friendly nappy based on new green technology, protected by a Swedish patent. Soft, thin, comfortable and with perfect sizing. With an exclusive chlorine free material. With corn based compostable non pastic leakage barrier, distribution layer and outer packaging. And it performs as well as the best 'traditional' nappy. Marlene: 'I don't believe in compromises or shortcuts. If you want an eco-friendly nappy to be successful, it must perform at least as well or better than the 'ordinary' nappies.'
Note:
One or two of our customers have mentioned that they have some concerns that the Nature Babycare nappies are made in Israel. Some of the smaller sizes are made in Israel and the largers sizes are made in Finland. Here is the response we recieved from Nature Babycare when we put your queries to them:
We appreciate your e-mail and concerns regarding the nappy production facility we employ in northern Israel. We respect your opinions and decisions regarding our products. Naty is a very international company. We were founded in Sweden, by a Swedish mother of two and continue to have our headquarters in Sweden. We sell internationally on four different continents. We have worked with producers in Canada, the UK, Holland, Pakistan, Finland, and Israel over the past few years. Currently, we are working with a production partner in Israel because they produce high class products and have a very good research and development department. These points are very important to us at Nature Babycare to ensure that we can satisfy the needs of our consumers. We ensure that our suppliers only source materials from approved ethical suppliers. Furthermore, we can assure you that none of the materials sourced are from occupied territories. We are constantly striving to reduce our environmental impact. To improve upon our existing business model. To become a better corporate citizen. This includes investing heavily in research and development to improve upon our products. It includes looking at new production facilities closer to the markets we sell to. Most importantly, it includes taking into consideration the ideas and concerns of our customers. Our products are the most environmentally friendly disposable diaper available. We pride ourselves on that. We have been awarded numerous awards, not only for performance, but have also been recognized for our environmental stewardship. We will continue to do so. Once again, we truly do appreciate your e-mail. It is incredibly important to us that these concerns are brought to our attention so that we can act accordingly.
***We are very sorry that we have to increase the price of our Nature Babycare nappies. Unfortunately with sterling so strong it is no longer possible to keep them at the price we have kept them at for the last 2 years***

We moan anytime we run out of this product and have had to use regular nappies. These nappies are excellent, need much less changing, don't smell and are kind to baba's bottom. Highly recommended.

I changed over to these after finding similar leading super market brands smelling very chemically. I love the way they feel so silky and it might sound strange I love the simple look of them
