One of the best things you can do for your body, Epsom salts are remarkable. They have been used for many years as an antidote to relieve stress, and tired aching knotted muscles.
Epsom Salt was first discovered in the mineral-rich waters of Epsom in England, way back in the days of Shakespeare. When the main ingredient, magnesium sulphate, is absorbed through the skin, such as in a bath, it draws toxins from the body, sedates the nervous system, reduces swelling, relaxes muscles, is a natural emollient, exfoliator, and much more. It can even help to combat jet-lag!
Both magnesium and sulfate molecules may have an ability to help extract excess sodium, phosphorus and nitrogenous toxins from the body. Its soothing action may help with troublesome muscle aches and pains.
Magnesium sulfate dissolved in water creates a static, unified, electrical field, and immersing your body in it helps to create a magnetic balance.
Often recommended by physiotherapists and specialists as it is thought that many injuries may heal up to a third faster when treated with Epsom Salts. They may therefore be used by many athletes. It can also be an invaluable aid bringing welcome relief to painful joints associated with arthritic and rheumatic conditions.
Epsom Salts are also wonderful during periods of prolonged stress as they have a mild sedative effect on the nervous system.
Epsom salts may also act as a natural emollient to soften & exfoliate the skin. Unlike other salts, it does not leave the skin feeling dry. On the contrary, Epsom Salts leave the skin with a soft and silky texture. This pure mineral has been able to stand the test of time because so many people seem to get results. Generations of people have relied on the natural values of Epsom Salts.
Can be used after c-sections to help scar tissue healing and can also be used for Eczema, Psoriasis & Sensitive Skin.
Famous Epsom salts users include supermodel Stephanie Seymour, vocal group NSYNC and Keanu Reeves. Marsha Bialo, a celebrity manicurist in Los Angeles, always uses Epsom salts as an ingredient in her pre-pedicure foot soak. Actress Drew Barrymore, while filming Charlie's Angels with Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz, depended on Epsom salts to repair each day's damage. "We were in extraordinary pain and Epsom salt was absolutely my best friend in the world", said Drew, "I had cartons of it lined up around my bathtub."

This is great stuff - it really loossens muscles whoch sieze up after birth and go into spasm - even after months!
But the price is too high if you don't need a branded salt.
I got a kilo of eprom salts from our baby's osteopath the other day for 2 euro. And you do need a good 2 handfuls in your bath and to soak to get it to work.
