* Maternity Pads
Natracare pads are super absorbent and allow natural breathable material next to delicate and sensitive area. You will need at least 2 boxes for the first 2 days after giving birth.
* Nursing Pads
(even if you dont intend to breastfeed, these will soak up any leaks in the first few days)
* Shower Gel
For after the Birth - this is the best shower you will ever have so make the most of it with our Avalon Organics refreshing peppermint range.
* Arnica Tablets
Speed up the healing process for any internal bruising caused during a natural or c-section birth.
* Lavender Oil
Add a few drops to your pillow in the hospital to keep you calm during labour and help you sleep after.
* Bach Rescue Remedy
Helps you calm down during any stressful times.
Essentials for baby:
* Nappies
You will need approx 8 per day - one for after each feed - for the first few weeks
* Cotton Wool
And theres nothing purer than our organic, fair trade ones here.
* Derma H20 Wipes
The first wipes suitable from newborn. You or your midwife may still prefer cotton wool and water though.
* Babygrows
Our range of organic cotton kimono babygrows are perfect for newborn babies because they are so soft, have no chemicals in them and you dont have to put them over your babies head (most babies dont like this), they wrap around them instead.
* Baby blanket
Our Green Baby Swaddling blankets are perfect for snuggly wrapping your new baby in organic comfort.
* Organic Muslins
Great for clean ups, spills, comforters, everything really!
And some other things that you will need that we might or might not stock:
* Nightdress, PJ's, Dressing Gown, Slippers/Shoes, Non slip socks, Nursing Bra's
* Lots of food - you will probably be starving on Day 2 and 3!
* Lots of Drinks - you may have lost a lot of fluid during the birth and will need to keep hydrated if you are breastfeeding
* Some easy reading books/magazines
* Camera
* Mobile phone with all your contacts to let them know the good news
* Glasses/Contact lenses
* Baby hats as newborns tend to lose heat very quickly in the first few days
* Bodysuits, socks, scratch mittens (approx 3 outfits per day so you have plenty to spare in case of sick ups etc
* An outdoor cover/blanket/babysuit
* A car seat to take your baby home in.
